Global Outreach

"Let the nations rejoice and shout for joy" — Psalm 67:4

Advancing the Gospel to every tribe, tongue, and nation.

We see God’s heart for the nations from God’s covenant with Abraham (Gen 12:1-3) to Jesus’ command to make disciples of all nations (Matt 28:18-20) to the glorious vision in Revelation, looking forward to seeing God’s redeemed people from every tongue, tribe, and nation (Rev 7:9-10).

As a local church in Lorton, Virginia we want to have hearts for the nations like our Heavenly Father and to obey the Great Commission to take the good news of Jesus Christ to every tongue, tribe, and nation. To that end, we provide financial and prayer support to several international missionaries in some of the hardest places to advance the gospel, amongst some of the least-reached people of the world.

Pray
Praying for Global Outreach both awakens and changes our hearts to be more like God’s heart for the nations and is the means that God uses to give power to the spread of the gospel and bring glory to His name.
Give
3 John 6b-8 commends believers who support missionaries: “You will do well to send them on their journey in a manner worthy of God. For they have gone out for the sake of the name, accepting nothing from the Gentiles. Therefore we ought to support people like these, that we may be fellow workers for the truth.” It’s been said that we are not all called to be “go-ers” to the nations, but we can all be “senders” who provide financial support to those who do “go”. That giving could be through your giving to Grace Bible Church or directly to a missionary through their missions organization.
Welcome
Deuteronomy 10:18-19 says “[God] administers justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the stranger, giving him food and clothing. Therefore love the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.” God has a deep heart for the vulnerable and frequently commands His people to care for the sojourner and stranger in their midst. Here in Northern Virginia, one of the most diverse areas in the country, many people from the nations come to us, either long-term or temporarily. That gives us a unique opportunity to welcome, care for, and share the gospel with the nations without ever leaving to go to another country.
Go
Luke 10:2 says “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” Each of us should be faithful to share the gospel where God places us (with our family and in our community). But God calls some to specifically “go” to other nations to take the gospel to those who have not heard the good news of Jesus. All of us should care for, pray for, and seek to give financially to those who answer God’s call to “go” to every tongue, tribe, and nation.
Mobilize
Believers are called to encourage, equip, train, and inspire one another toward making disciples of all nations. We should look for opportunities to use our time, talents, and finances to help the church send missionaries to the nations.
