Why We Give

The Bible has a lot to say about giving, but, at the heart of giving, is a worshipful response to God because He first graciously gave to us.

In 2 Corinthians 8:9, the Apostle Paul wrote, "For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich." Because of the Gospel, disciples of Jesus are called to give locally, regularly, intentionally, proportionally to our means, generously, sacrificially, freely, thankfully, out of love for God and for others, and joyfully. (1 Cor. 16:1-2; 2 Cor. 8:1-15, 9:1-15)
