We partner with
LCAC, a local nonprofit community organization which seeks to provide low-income individuals, senior citizens, and families residing in Fort Belvoir, Lorton, Newington and other portions of southeast Fairfax County, with access to basic needs and training. LCAC distributes food to more than 2,200 people through their food pantry, supports more than 500 children through our after-school and tutoring program, provides winter coats to more than 900 people, provide gifts, food and toys to more than 2,800 people during the holiday season, and teaches more than 200 individuals with improved English skills through their ESL program.
We provide volunteer support and participate in the annual Fall for LCAC Festival, National Night Out, and Christmas Dinner program. Additionally, our
Home Groups also provide volunteers in the food pantry and other service areas. What's more, twice a year in April and August we put on an Outreach Week at LCAC, in Lorton Park, serving over 60 children through the summer lunch program, a weeklong vacation Bible school program, and other activities.
Please note that a simple background check is required to participate in this ministry, as with all our ministries involving children.
